It is particularly important to provide appropriate leisure activities for clients with dementia. Reading for pleasure is something most of us enjoy and the retained ability to read is often overlooked by carers of clients with cognitive loss.
When I was a child I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child- when I became an adult I put an end to childish things. Corinthians 1:13:11. What St Paul said 2000 years ago is still true today.
Despite cognitive loss, many of our clients can still enjoy reading. It is demeaning for the clients and their carers to offer childish books to adults. This series of readers provides adult material in very large print on topics of interest for reading, enjoyment and discussion.
The books are lightweight and easy to hold. Each reader is enhanced with original coloured illustrations. It may be necessary to have a few copies of each book so each person has a reader.
Bulk orders of the books can be purchased at a discount.
